Papamoa has NZ's only purpose blokart land sailing track. We
watched the tongue-in-cheek safety demo video with our instructor
Luke and found there are 3 important rules. Let go of the rope, let
go of the rope and finally, let go of the rope.
It's a friendly, family-run business and hiring is only a small
part of what they do. Santa's wind workshop out the back is where
they manufacture 1000 odd blokarts each year. Cousin Trev (who
designed the indianajune.com website) challenged me to a
race around the track and we managed to get the carts on 2 wheels
with big wind gusts. It was such a rush and well worth a whirl if
you're in Tauranga.

Eating award winning meat pies:
Pies are big business with The New Zealand pie market worth in
excess of $145 million… Kiwis eat literally millions of pies every
year.
Four time Supreme Pie Award winner Pat Lam, has an Asian bakery
in Tauranga so we called in for a Steak and Cheesy. Apparently the
secret to making a good pie is all in the pastry."Don't make it too
thick, make it light and easy to effort. Nice and puffy and make
sure not too much crumb."There were a record 4,336 pies from 386
bakeries entered in the contest, testimony that Pat is quite the
baker. Going by his expression, I'm pretty sure little Jack
agrees.
