Leaving Milan I picked up a lovely Limincello gift set for the
bride and groom and was told I would have no trouble transferring
at Singapore airport. It was in a sealed duty-free bag but the
airport official was having none of it. He ordered that it be
disposed of immediately, I knew there was no changing his mind so I
decided to dispose of it in the only other option available to me,
by drinking it.
After two glasses of sickly sweet Italian liquer I admitted
defeat, the x-ray man was chuckling by this stage and my offers to
other passengers at 6.30am of a free shot of limincello were
surprisingly declined. Oh well, I made my point and it sure chilled
me out for the 8 hour flight ahead.
