I recently did an interview with Foto Ruta in Buenos Aires and
they asked me which photo I'd taken that I was most proud of during
the trip. I've taken thousands of photos so narrowing it to one was
really dificult. There have been countless beautiful sunsets,
stunning vistas and warm and friendly people but in the end I came
back to this shot.
This is an undercover photo I took with my iphone on the Tunnocks Biscuit Factory tour in Glasgow.
(Cameras weren't allowed.) I did the tour with a gaggle of grannies
who were having a night out from the nursing home. They were all in
their 80s and 90s and every one of them was so excited to be there,
eating the nostalgic biscuits of their childhood. They were
grabbing the sticky toffee straight off the production line and
stuffing biscuits into their sleeves, pockets and hair nets. The
photo is low res, it's not the right
exposure but it captures the giddy excitement of the moment
perfectly. My favourite photos always invite the viewer into the
shot, they tell a story and the more you look, the more you feel
like you were there.
In the coming weeks I'll try and add a few more of my favourite
pics to this post. I've got to say it's hard to narrow it to one,
